Vacancy for a Programmer / Data Analyst

A skilled programmer is sought to manage data in a research institute close to Kandy. A background in information technology and aptitude for programming is essential. Knowledge of physical sciences, engineering or research experience shall be an added qualification.  This work shall be in support of projects related to the use of climate information for societal benefit.  

The candidate should possess good scientific programming skills – knowledge of mathematical, statistical and scientific programming skills; and must be able to write well in English.. Skills in use of Web2.0 technologies shall be an advantage. The programmer shall work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment to realize the overall project goals. We are open to engaging interns as well in support of this work.

Appointment is on contract basis and is extendable. Work will primarily be at offices in Digana or Akurana. To apply, send a resume, cover letter and names of two professional referees by email, by December 15th 2015 but preferably earlier.
